Born on the pavement of the Rue de Belleville 72 , Paris, she was name after nurse Edith Cavell, who was executed for helping French soldiers to scape during World War I.
Daughter of a French femme who ran a brothel where prostitutes often took care of her daughter and an Italian street acrobat she was soon abandoned by her parents.
Blind from age three to seven as a result of a keratitis she recovers and starts singing all over the streets of France at the age 14.
At the age of seventeen she has her only child, Marcelle, who died of meningitis at age two.
She looses as well the love of her life, married boxer Marcel Cerdan who died on a plane crash in October 1949 , while flying from New York to Paris to meet her.

Edith Giovanna Gasson was still able to see life through a pink colored glass. She said it once and after all... "La Vie en Rose"... no matter what. Enjoy:

We are all made of stars
In case some of you didn't know....we are made of stars. We are made of the same basic elements that form the stars. "We are a way for the universe to know itself. Some part of our being knows this is where we came from. We long to return. And we can, because the cosmos is also within us. We're made of star stuff." Carl Sagan 1980. Enjoy:

Ishida
Wow. That's all I have to say. Wow when I saw this artist's work. Surrealism in all his potential, Japanese artist Tetsuya Ishida can leave you speechless with his work. ( Or at least I was..)
Killed by a train in 2005, representing the ordinary japanese life was his only goal, painting it from a very... raw perspective. Taking a look at some of his pieces felt like chewing a piece of lime with a liiiitle bit of tabasco. I loved it! Raw. Heavy political and social content.
Tetsuya Ishida.

Time for peace
Good morning people!
One of the things I love the most(besides a good coffee) is to listen to a good song in the morning and
to get some inspiration with a good quote or image that can keep me up on that "state" of mind for the rest of the day.
Amazing photographs, by Kuni Takahashi had just made my day. It's time for global peace.
I recently heard,
Peace is not something we must struggle or fight for. Peace is possible through universal human consciousness. It will be, when we are all able to interiorize and visualize peace in our minds, when peace will become a reality.
Get inspired.
Enjoy these pics.

People of Cuzco
Peru
is not only a country that can take your breath away with it's wild nature and landscapes but also with its people. Your heart will be wrapped and trapped by its habitants warmness and kindness.Their genuine singular style.....

I was specially amazed with Cuzco. This city has completely stopped in time. Its streets built of stones hundreds of years old give the city a vibe where the time has stopped.
People
live their live outdoors
and if you can, sit drinking some coca mate tea and watch how often people can keep their conversation per hours on the streets.
No hurry.
If you get a chance to visit this lost in time and space city, I recommend you to try a
Lucuma dessert, to walk intensively the streets of Cuzco and to be ready for the altitude. Drink big amounts of water, chew coca leaves and enjoy your journey..
